Costume & Makeup

My experience in costume & makeup began in 2016 in school theatre productions. I often enjoy a themed party or challenging Halloween costume to explore my creativity in costume & makeup. When it comes to costuming in film I take great care in finding authentic and lived in looking pieces that tell us a story about the character. I always ask myself why? Why is the character choosing this specific shade of lipstick? Why this pin on the jacket? Why does their hair look like this in this particular scene? and What does all of this tell us.

My focus on period pieces from 1880-2000 allows for my costume & makeup in period pieces to be accurate. My biggest goal is authenticity & accuracy when it comes to a period film. I do heavy research into locational trends, monthly trends in a specific year, what is trending in media versus what the average person would look like, and the cultural influences around the time period (how are books, music, or music that were popular informing the style). I have experience in sourcing clothing from 1880-2000 and own womens pieces from this period.
